JC (Jones & Co.)
This pair of peach coloured vases were made in Sweden and measure approx 8 & 1/5th inches (205mm) in height. Typically for Swedish vases the stems are the same colour as the base and have a medium flare 1" (24mm). The bottom of the base is "ground" flat and polished (see close up below). The bubbles are fairly large, getting smaller as they rise up in a spiral. Below is another vase with a JC label which was made in Czechoslovakia. The Swedish vases have paper labels which are black with silver lettering and borders.

I believe these are labels for Jones & Co. an importer of glass in Birmingham England.

The images below kindly sent to me by fellow collector James McDermott show a peach vase with a JC label, which was made in Czechoslovakia. It is approx 167mm (6 and 3/5ths inches) in height. The stem is clear and has a medium flare of approximately 22mm (7/8ths of an inch). The base has been formed into 4 lobes and the bottom of the base is concave (see close up below). The bubbles are small, and rise up in a spiral. This label is black but with a gold border and lettering.

This red vase also made in Sweden measures approx 9 & 3/4 inches (250mm) in height. However the stem is clear and has a medium flare 1 & 1/16th" (28mm). The bottom of the base is "ground" flat and polished (see close up below). The bubbles are medium sized, getting smaller as they rise up in a spiral, and do not go down to the bottom of the ball. The paper label is the same as the Swedish vases above.

This green vase also made in Sweden measures approx 152mm (6 inches) in height. The stem is the same colour as the base and has a medium flare of 20mm (12/16ths of an inch). The bottom of the base is "ground" flat and polished (see close up below). The bubbles are medium sized, changing to small as they rise up in a spiral, and like the Swedish peach vase (on the left hand side at the top of this page) do not go down to the bottom of the ball. The paper label is the same as the Swedish vases above.
